    Abstract :

In the environment, human health is mainly affected by pollution. Industrial development contributes more for pollution. In industries, different chemicals are used. After the usage of chemicals, the remaining waste product which contains chemicals are disposed along with waste water. Thus the waste water contains heavy metals, dyes etc. The accumulation of these metals, dyes, etc increases pollution. For reducing pollution, different methods like adsorption, precipitation, coagulation, etc are used. In these methods, adsorption is one of the chief and best method. The adsorbent may be prepared by natural and synthetic methods. In the synthetic method, the adsorbent can be prepared from waste polymeric materials. The polymeric materials become an integral part of life. After the usage of this polymer, they may accumulate in the environment as waste as it is non biodegradable. By recycling the used polymer as a useful adsorbent or converting as carbon, we can reduce the pollution in the environment. In this article, the recent work carried out for the recycling and carbon preparation from post PET polymer waste are reviewed.
