Such an effort has been made at NIT Campus Srinagar. The Campus houses a large number of students, besides faculty members. The amount of bio waste is very large and needs periodic removal. Bio Gas digesters are designed at various locations to cater for the fuel needs. A large amount of vegetable peels, left over food and fruit peels are generated, which are proposed to be used for Bio Gas generation, thus saving the fuel costs.
