    Abstract :

The integration of large number of DG units in distribution network may cause severe voltage regulation problem and the utility-side voltage regulators might no longer be able to maintain proper voltage profile. In addition, LTC’s provides an optimal set-point design for the voltage control scheme of distributed generation through automatic tap changing method which facilitates to improve the overall performance of the network with respect to voltage but these LTC’s may not work efficiently when large number of DG’s Integrated. Hence distributed control of different equipment’s(agents) like LTC, DG and load seems to be effective for better voltage regulation. The paper proposes new decentralized control approach that has capability to provide proper voltage profile improvement in distribution feeders. The simulations are performed using MATLAB to verify effectiveness and robustness of network. Results show that proposed control approach has capability to improve the distribution system voltage profile.
