To achieve balance between increasing water demand and the supply the reuse and recycling of water should be takes place with help of the different wastewater treatment techniques. There are many treatment technologies of wastewater reported for industrial wastewater and mainly for urban areas but the less attention is on the rural area. The paper highlights the effective wastewater treatment in rural area. Hajarwadi is the small village with 270 household located in sangli district. The village faces the main problem, the waste generated by the domestic activities is directly disposed on open ground without any treatment, which further affects community health and environment. After the comparison with various wastewater treatment techniques on basis of less initial cost, operational cost and maintenance cost the constructed wetland treatment system (CWTS) had been selected for Hajarwadi village. The design facet of CWTS are discussed and site suggestion has been suggested for Hajarwadi village.
