Keywords : JIT, manufacturing industry, productivity and benefits Abstract :JIT (Just in Time) is a technique to improve the performance at every level of operation, in every functional area of an organization, by at a time delivery of product. The study is an attempt to assess the performance of different JIT practices experienced by manufacturing organization in their manufacturing systems and impact of these practices on manufacturing performance improvement in manufacturing industry of Punjab. Structural Equation modeling has been used to asses the impact of important practices on performance parameters. Result indicated that the manufacturing organizations in Punjab have achieved their goals. JIT practices show negative potential towards performance improvement through supplier development.
