One of the essential tasks in the development of Underwater Sensor Networks is the maintenance of coverage and connectivity, which measures the network effectiveness and accuracy in the event detection. In this review, we highlight a number of important research challenges and major strategies that have been emphasized in the recent years in the research direction of Underwater Sensor Networks.
